Volunteers are everyday people making an extraordinary contribution.
Make a difference and become part of our dedicated team! Volunteers are an integral part of the success of MIHS and provide an indispensable service to the patients, visitors and staff of the health system by delivering care and compassion to every person, every time. They are a group of individuals who share a strong desire to help where they can and willingness to serve where they are most needed. Dedication and generosity of our volunteers are a critical part of our success
Volunteers assist in just about every department of the hospital.
Our volunteers help us by performing administrative services such as computer projects, copying, faxing, and other office duties. They also serve with our Information Desk escorting and guests and on our nursing floors assisting with patient and family needs, stocking supplies and providing care and compassion. We invite caring, committed adults and teens to contribute their time and talent to meet the needs of our mission, our community and the patients we serve. In return, volunteering is an excellent way to learn new skills, explore careers and meet new friends. Ideal volunteers for MIHS are:
- Energetic
- Compassionate
- Communicative (must be proficient in English language)
- Committed (at least 6 months commitment required, one shift per week)
- Age 16 or older (have completed their sophomore year of high school)
Each potential volunteer has a personal interview and we do our best to match the individual to an appropriate area that meets a need in our medical system. However we cannot guarantee placement in any service area. Please Note: We do not participate in court ordered community service or guarantee placement for job/certification requirements. We are not an internship, externship or job shadow program.
