Research
During the four-year training program, residents are expected to produce a scholarly product. This might be a case report suitable for publication or presentation, a literature review or meta-analysis, or a research project. Residents take a course in Research Methods in the first semester of PGY 1 and are encouraged to develop a project of their own or join a faculty member’s project. Currently, there are 5 clinical research protocols in progress in the Department of Psychiatry. Most residents participate in clinical research projects resulting in presentations, abstracts or journal publications. MIHS psychiatry residents have presented posters at APA for the last four years.
