Information

Goals

To provide third and fourth year medical students, and observers with exposure to the following Medical Imaging modalities:

  • Abdominal Imaging
  • Breast Imaging
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Musculoskeletal Imaging
  • Neuroradiology
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Thoracic Imaging
  • Ultrasound
  • Vascular

Format

Through lecture attendance, participation in read-out sessions with the attending staff and residents and the observation of invasive and non-invasive radiological procedures students will be introduced to:

  • Techniques relevant to radiology
  • Normal anatomic features and variants
  • Radiological anatomy
  • Aspects of the basic sciences
  • The formulation of differential diagnosis and diagnostic-management plans for developmental abnormalities, congenital anomalies, infections, tumors and tumor-like lesions, trauma, metabolic, systemic and hematological disorders, immunologic disorders and iatrogenic problems

Evaluation Methods

The student will be given feedback throughout the rotation by residents and faculty in the daily work situation and didactic conferences. Written evaluations of the student's overall performance will be provided at the conclusion of the rotation.
