Utility Assistance
Community Action Programs in Maricopa County are hosting walk-in events for utility assistance for low-income households- No Appointment is necessary at these events! If unable to attend one of these events, CALL the Community Action Program in your area (reverse side). If you have received utility assistance in the past 12 months, please call your CAP office to schedule an appointment as you may not be eligible at this time.
Maricopa County residents living outside of Phoenix can attend these walk-in events.* Persons are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, and will be given a number in order of their place in line. A number is not a guarantee of an interview. Residents given numbers that morning may be interviewed and pre-screened to apply for UTILITY ASSISTANCE ONLY. An interview is not a guarantee of assistance. *Phoenix Residents may attend the event at the West Valley Career Center. For more information see attachment

Online course: STD Overview for Non-Clinicians
Provided by: California STD/HIV Prevention Training Center
Cost: free, self-paced
Designed for: health educators, counselors, teachers, nurses, social workers, outreach
workers and other providers working in STD/HIV prevention and education
About: It takes approximately 3 hours to complete and has 7 interactive modules
covering topics such as STD transmission, consequences of STDs, epidemiological data,
the connection between HIV and other STDs, information on specific populations at
higher risk, STD prevention messages and interventions, and applying STD facts to
encourage more protective behaviors and healthier decision-making with clients.
Continuing education credits are available upon completion of this online course for BBS,
CHES, CAADAC, and Nursing CEs.
